Truth be told, the primary concern I have with the constitution is that it's supposed to be binding... any set of laws that is not treated by the interpreting judiciary as a guideline is a concern on a very fundamental level, imho. The Federalist papers and the letters of intent were suppose to be used as a guideline. We also have the amendment process.
